Unshield

Unshielding moves value from your notes back to public tokens at an address you choose.

Steps

1. Choose the asset and the Unshield tab.
2. Enter the amount in shares.
3. Enter the receiving address (a normal 20-byte address).
4. Choose Unshield. Your browser proves the withdrawal and the relayer submits it. The tokens arrive at the address when the transaction confirms.

What is public

The receiving address and the amount are public, like any token transfer. The transaction is sent by the relayer, so the chain does not connect the withdrawal to your wallet or to the deposit that funded it.

Choosing the address

For the strongest privacy, unshield to a fresh address that has never interacted with your wallet. Unshielding to the wallet you deposited from links the two ends of your activity on the chain.

Shares out

The amount you receive is the note's raw units, which your wallet shows as shares using the token's current multiplier. If a split or dividend was applied while the position was shielded, it is reflected here; nothing was lost inside the pool.
